Product Stats
Lemons are a citrus variety indigenous to the Mediterranean Basin and the Middle East. Under favourable climatic conditions, lemons are inclined to flower and bear fruit throughout the year – these are known as everblooming cultivars. Lemon trees in the Mersin region usually bloom in April and reach maturation between October to January depending on the variety. Lemons are commonly categorised in three groups: sour, sweet and other. Commercially grown varieties belong to the sour lemon group.

Interdonato is an early maturing, export grade variety and Turkey’s Eastern Mediterranean region is the biggest producer in the world. The fruit is large and oblong-cylindrical. One of the most distinct features of this fruit is its pointed nipple surrounded by pronounced areolar furrow which is often deeper on one side. There are only a limited number of seeds in the flesh which is a greenish-yellow in colour. As an early maturing cultivar, Interdonato is unsuitable for extended storage and is very susceptible to environmental conditions. This is a moderately yielding variety which is quick to shed leaves. At full maturation 32% of the fruit weight is water. Acidity is 7.02%.
